How To : Relocating IKVM

There are times where the server’s Build-In IPMI or IKVM are not working or it does not have any Build-in IKVM setup (Colocation Servers)

Therefore we have our own portable IKVM which is called Spider Lanctorix in each DataCentre to view the current state of the server remotely.

We would need to send a request to NOC/PLT to perform the relocation.

All records for the current location of each Spider IKVM stored in https://portal.ipfusions.com

Under “Portable IKVM Records”.


Steps :

1 - Identify the server (Rack Number and Label/TAG ID) that you would like to plug the IKVM in IPRobot.
2 - Try to find a Spider IKVM that located nearest to the server location.
3 - Create a new ticket and send a request to relocate the IKVM to the new location.

Hi,

Please help us to perform the following task,

- Go to Rack (Current Rack Number)
- Locate a KVM device like a mobile phone size. Brand Lantronix Spider Lynx (connected to server label - “Current Server Label or TAG ID” )
- Unplug VGA console , USB, power adapter ONLY
- Then go to Rack (“New Location Rack Number”)
- Connect the VGA console, USB/PS2 and network cable labeled with iKVM to the server label (“New Location Server Label or TAG ID”)
- Call me @ (Your Mobile Number) once it done

p/s : Please change “Current Rack Number/Server Label or TAG ID” and “New Location Rack Number / New Location Server Label or TAG ID” correctly.
