Create recovery media via wizard from the server/VM installed with Veeam Agent
- Make sure include all network connections settings from this computer (recommended when you restore back to same server/VM)
- Make sure hardware drivers from this computer (recommeded when you restore back to same server/VM)
- If perform P2V or V2P or V2V to different server/VM/new hardware, make sure select include the following additional storage and network hardware drivers to import those drivers into recovery media. If not you can load and import from recovery media

Save recovery media to the location you want

Please wait while recovery media is created

Once recovery media completely created.
- If you are restoring to physical server/hardware, can convert ISO to USB using rufus tools https://rufus.ie/
- If you are restoring to virtualization such as VMware/Hyper-v, you can upload the ISO to the server datastore
Next, enter Bios change boot priority to CD-Rom, then boot to Veeam recovery media

Go to Tools to configure network or load necessary driver, if the network adapter cannot be found by recovery media, you need to Load Driver. Configure network if you are restoring from shared drive or veeam cloud connect or etc

If recovery media automatically find the driver, you just click install driver else go to Load Driver
Once the driver has been installed successfully, go to Network settings to configure the network

To make sure backup repository/destination is accessible, you can go to Tools > use Command Prompt to ping the destination
Next go to Bare Metal Recovery
- If plan to restore from local storage click on Browse
- If plan to restore from network share or veeam cloud connect or etc, click on Network storage

In the example, we using Shared folder, click on Shared folder

Enter backup destination information with credential

Next, select restore point


Next, specify a restore mode

If automatically detected disk mapping not working, use manual restore
In this example, we using manual restore (advanced), select all volume you wish to restore > Click Customize disk mapping

Click Erase if existing partition is available

Next, select Apply Backup Layout, if you wish to apply disk layout 1 by 1 you can select Apply Disk Layout


Click Next to view Summary and start the restoration progress

Once restore has been completed, you can reboot the server/VM. Recommended to boot to safe mode by press F5 to double check necessary services, if you are restore domain controller need to boot to safe mode with active directory to perform health check
